Peer Support

We are still here for you during the coronavirus pandemic physical distancing period. We have a great support team ready to take your calls or link up with you via video conferencing. Once the current restrictions ease, we can meet you face to face in your home, a local café or anywhere that suits you best.

Individual Peer Support

We offer one-on-one peer support to people with physical disability as well as their family and/or support. Our team have a wealth of knowledge with personal experience in the physical disability space.

Topics and areas of support can include:

  • Information and a better understanding of any aspect of the NDIS
  • Self-advocacy, assertiveness, and your rights
  • Resilience during and beyond the coronavirus pandemic
  • Enhancing independence
  • Relationships
  • Adapting to change
  • Practical living skills
  • Travel accessibility (local, interstate and overseas)
  • Accessing you community and activities.

Peer Support Groups

We currently operate several peer-led groups and are in the process of building two new groups. Peer groups are a collective environment encouraging people with disability to share stories and learn from others in a similar situation in a place that is safe and free from judgement.

Meeting monthly in an accessible location, including online options, peer groups are led by skilled facilitators with personal experience of disability. They support the group in topics of interest (see above), achieving personal goals and social outings on occasions. A group setting also allows for guest speakers and presenters on topics which are relevant to group members.

If you would like to engage in peer support, be it as an individual or as part of a peer group, please contact us or register your interest using the form below.

We look forward to offering face-to-face support as soon as possible.
