Join us for a transformative experience, designed specifically with and for parents of children with disability.
Connect & Flourish offers an opportunity to pause, reflect and discover simple ways to nurture yourself while navigating the highs and lows of this specific kind of parenting. It’s a chance to reconnect with your own strengths and leave with practical tools that can be woven into everyday life.
Throughout this highly interactive workshop, we explore the ‘whole self’ – looking at nervous system regulation, leaning into strengths, reframing challenges and embracing vulnerability. We also highlight the importance of ‘collecting the good stuff’ and having fun, reminding parents that joy is a crucial part of self-care!
The workshop is facilitated by passionate educator and peer mentor Nicole Newton, whose life has been shaped by disability through her son’s brain injury at birth. Over 18 years of parenting a child with disability, Nicole has come to understand that self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. Drawing on her lived experience, and her professional background in communication, mindset, emotional regulation, and facilitation, Nicole creates a safe, supportive space for parents to feel seen, heard and valued.
Developed in collaboration with other parents of children with disabilities and colleagues at PDCN, Connect & Flourish brings together practical strategies and the reassurance of shared experience, vital to enhancing our capacity to support those in our care.
If we can’t answer your questions during the session, we can still provide individual peer mentoring to discuss things further, so feel free to contact us here or call 1800 688 831.
