What is the study about?

This study aims to find out why, when and where people use mobility scooters. Motorised mobility devices are costly, and only sometimes available through Government subsidised programs, yet scooters have the potential to greatly increase community participation and quality of life. This study will ask about your experience of using an electric scooter, the process you went through to obtain the device, as well as the positive and negative aspects of your experience.

Who is carrying out the study?

The study is being conducted by Kara Edwards, a fourth year occupational therapy student at The University of Sydney and is supervised by Dr Annie McCluskey. This project will contribute to an honours research thesis.

What is involved?

If you decide to take part in the study, you will be required to complete a written survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete.
