On Saturday, 10th November we go to the polls to decide who will be the next Federal Government . Many issues will be considered by voters in the weeks ahead. But do you know what any of the parties has to say about physical disability or disability issues generally? What do the political parties promise about Equal rights for people with disability? You are invited to join us at an Election Forum where representatives of all the major parties will answer your questions about disability policies and the next Federal Government. PDCA ANNUAL FORUM SYDNEY, 11TH NOVEMBER 2001The Way Ahead The Physical Disability Council of Australia is holding its annual forum in Sydney in November and is inviting people to attend. Please note that there is a small fund for sponsoring people with disabilities to attend and we encourage and urge other organisations to sponsor their own members with disabilities to attend. If anyone is interested in finding out which party is offering the best policies in disability, or what's in this election for you. Then visit any or all of the following Political Party websites. We present this information without influence or bias, but for you information as voters. Typing in 'disability' in the search facility brings up speeches. Policies on disability are not evident. Labor - When page opens, top right hand indicates a search button for Labor policies. Disability policies can be found by typing 'disability' into the search function half way down the page. Community organisations might also like to search from 'community compact' for labor's view of the community of the future. National - Home page has policies button - select and find a few policies. None found on disability. Site instructs that more policies are being released progressively. Democrats - There is a large search area with a drop down menu, select policies and it takes you to their policy page. Scroll down and find Disability Services for the policy on disability. Greens - One Nation - Main page has policy link at top. Takes you to a search drop down menu. No specific information on disability was found.
