Decent disability support within reach

The Physical Disability Council of NSW (PDCN) applauds the 'in reach' support programs announced by NSW Ageing and Disability Services Minister Kristina Keneally. Support for young people with disabilities in nursing homes is much needed and overdue.

PDCN believes the program is essential in order to enable young people with disabilities living in nursing homes to make positive choices and have the opportunity to be more productive members of the community.

PDCN hopes this program will be part of a successful state wide strategy that will continue to directly address the serious unmet needs of people with physical disabilities.
