NSW STRUGGLING
families who have children with disabilities are to
receive new support services from the NSW
government.
State Disabilities Services
Minister John Della Bosca said $4.16 million would be
spent to help families under "severe stress to better
care for their children".
The services will include access to
in-home support, family and individual counselling as
well as parenting education and training.
"The majority of families want to
care for their loved ones at home in their own
communities," Mr Della Bosca said.
"These services will help families
get help when they most need it."
The services will be specifically
directed to families most in need in Sydney's west,
south-east and south-west as well as the Central Coast,
Hunter, far north coast, the Illawarra and the state's
central west.
Mr Della Bosca said the services
were aimed to give up-front help to those that need it
before they fall into crisis.
