NSW THE New
South Wales Government was recruiting eight new
disability care workers at a cost of $525,000 per
year.
Disability Services Minister John
Della Bosca said the workers would support people with a
disability living in boarding houses.
Four will work in Sydney's south,
east and city areas, two will serve the north and west
and one each will be stationed in the Hunter and western
NSW.
"The Iemma Government now spends
$50 million per year improving accommodation and support
services for people with a disability in boarding houses
and supporting those who have moved out of this type of
accommodation," Mr Della Bosca said.
The Government would also review
training for 17 inspectors who visit the houses, he
said.
"Ensuring people with a disability
get the support they need is a high priority of the Iemma
Government," he said.
"This financial year the Department
of Ageing Disability and Home Care has a record budget of
$1.6 billion to help look after the most vulnerable in
our community."
