Media Alert

NSW, Australia — PDCN has declared Tuesday February 28 Decency Day to encourage discussion of the important issues for people with disability in New South Wales.

PDCN's designated priorities for the day are:

  • Personal assistance
  • Access to equipment and
  • Transport.

Through our presence our and participation in the State's democratic process, PDCN hopes tor further promote and encourage equality of citizenship for people with Disabilities in NSW.

Decency Day is PDCN's way of responding to the words of Premier Iemma:

"My point of passion and conviction is to commit myself to...care and assistance for the disabled…these are matters of simple decency.

We have allowed these issues to slip off the broad political agenda. We need to put them back there."

Morris Iemma, Premier of NSW - 2 August, 2005

PDCN embraces this opportunity to discuss disability issues with our elected representatives, policy makers and media representatives, placing these issues back on the broad political agenda.

PDCN representatives will be available to the press to discuss the issues.
