Accessible Housing Research
29 April 2005

Australia — The Australian Building Codes Board and the Building Commission have jointly funded a research project to study options that could be used to plan for the future supply of housing that is accessible to persons with a disability. The research will evaluate whether or not there is a need for government intervention. If there is a demonstrated need, the research will identify a range of options to stimulate appropriate supply.

In January 2005, Jaguar Consulting Pty Ltd was appointed to conduct the research. Jaguar Consulting has developed a consultation paper that seeks stakeholder input to inform the development of the research project.

Public input is now being sought until 23 May 2005.
