Workshops and other training
“Getting Ready” is a free workshop run over 2 days (3 hours each day)for people with physical disability. The emphasis of the workshop is goal setting and planning. The aim of the workshop is to develop skills so people with disability are able to become confident in planning for their supports and services as well as individualised funding arrangements. Information is also provided during the workshop relating to useful contacts and resources relating to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Workshops are limited to up to 10 attendees to be able to maintain a personal focus to the topics that are discussed.

The Physical Disability Council of NSW will be running a free 2 hour workshop called ‘Word Matters’ which has been funded by a grant received from the City of Sydney.
The training helps guide and educate volunteers of non government organisation support groups and services. It also provides attendees the opportunity to reflect upon their use of language to, with or about people with disability and assist them in making positive language choices.
All attendees will also receive a copy of our publication ‘Words Matter’.

Emergency Readiness and ResponseWorkshops
These workshops are for people with a physical disability or mobility issues who wish to be better prepared for an emergency situation in or around the home and local community. Participants are encouraged to develop a personal plan to use in the event of an emergency and to make use of relevant and up to date information that meets their needs.
