Welcome Home Celebrations for the 2012 Australian Olympic Team

Sydney will be welcoming home the athletes and officials from the London 2012 Olympic Games on Monday 20 August with a parade commencing from Circular Quay at midday and making its way up George Street to Sydney Town Hall. 

The parade will finish at  Sydney Town Hall with an official welcome home ceremony by the NSW Premier and Lord Mayor of Sydney, from approximately 12.30pm.  For more information about the event, including links to traffic and transport information, visit http://www.nsw.gov.au/news/welcome-home-celebrations-2012-australian-olympic-team

There will be several options for accessible viewing areas available on the day.  These include:

  • 2 accessible viewing areas on the parade route along George Street - outside Wynyard Station and at Martin Place. See a detailed map at: http://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/uploads/common/olympiansreturn2012-accessibleareas_SD_v01.pdf
  • 2 accessible viewing areas at the front of Sydney Town Hall on George Street (near the corner of Druitt Street and a second on George Street in front of Sydney Square) for people who wish to watch the official celebrations and ceremony.   These areas should be available at approximately 11.15am.
