Carer survey

Background to this project: The NSW Department of Family and Community Services: Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) has engaged Nous Group, an independent consulting firm, to evaluate the NSW Carers Action Plan 2007-2012. The Carers Action Plan can be downloaded from this site: http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/policies/pd/2007/PD2007_018.html. The Carers Action Plan was succeeded by the NSW Carers (Recognition) Act 2010. The purpose of the NSW Carers (Recognition) Act 2010 is to recognise and increase awareness of the valuable economic and social contribution that carers make to the NSW community. The Act establishes a Carers Charter with 13 Principles and a Carers Advisory Council. The Act also sets out certain requirements for Public sector agencies. Purpose of this survey: ADHC are interested in your thoughts on the Carers Action Plan. This will help inform future carer initiatives.

Key points about the survey:

• The survey is available at this web site: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KDTRHMJ.
• The survey is open to all carers of any age.
• All survey responses will be treated confidentially. The survey does not require you to provide any personal information.
• It should take around 15-20 minutes to complete.
• The survey aims to reach as many carers in NSW as possible. It would be appreciated if you could please let other carers know about this survey and forward the survey link onto them.
• The survey will remain open to 5pm Friday 1 May.

Our appreciation for your time: Nous Group appreciates your assistance and will donate $1 for every survey completed. A list of charities to choose from appears on the last page of the survey. We will donate a further $150 to the charity that is most popular. Nous will donate $400 as a minimum.

Carers Consultations Dubbo and Wagga

Overview of this project: The NSW Department of Family and Community Services: Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) has engaged Nous Group, an independent consulting firm, to evaluate the NSW Carers Action Plan 2007-2012 (CAP). The CAP can be downloaded from this web site: http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/policies/pd/2007/PD2007_018.html.   

Consultation: Nous Group will be conducting consultation in Wagga Wagga on Monday 28 May and Dubbo on Tuesday 29 May. The consultation involves a group discussion (of 10 to 15 carers) and individual interviews with carers.

Purpose of this discussion: Nous Group would like to find out carers’ views on how well the Carers Action Plan worked, what worked well, what not so well, and what future carers’ initiatives should focus on.

Reimbursement for expenses incurred: Nous Group will reimburse you for any reasonable travel and respite expenses to enable you to come along, as long as you can give us a valid tax invoice.

Confidentiality: All discussions will be treated confidentially. Comments made by carers will be used by Nous Group to understand carer experiences, but will not be reported to anyone else in a way that might identify you personally. Nous Group will not share any personal information that it becomes aware of through this consultation with any other organisations or any NSW or Australian Government agencies.
