Living Life My Way Consultations Update
The NSW Government is conducting a 12 month statewide consultation process to seek the views of people with a disability, their families, carers, service providers and advocacy agencies on a person centred disability system.
A total of 78 consultation sessions are occurring across NSW from 7 May and 29 June 2012 to provide people with a disability, their families, carers, service providers and advocacy agencies an opportunity to comment on options for a person centred disability system. A discussion paper has been developed to guide consultations drawing on feedback from the previous round of consultations held in 2011.
The NSW Government wants to ensure that people with a disability, their family members and carers have an opportunity to provide feedback on the implementation of a person centred disability system. There are still places available at many of the consultation sessions, Ageing Disability and Home Care is seeking your assistance in promoting the consultations and distributing the fact sheets throughout your organisation, networks and forums to people with a disability, their families and carers.
To provide information to stakeholders on the consultation process one fact sheet has been developed for people with a disability, families and carers and another for service providers, advocates and other stakeholders.
