In 2011, a survey of people with physical disability was conducted in New South Wales by The Physical Disability Council of NSW (PDCN) to investigate whether access to essential goods and services had improved since the last such survey in 2008.

The broad goal of the survey was to investigate the impact of ageing on people with physical disability and determine whether access had improved to a number of key areas: Personal Assistance, Mobility, Transport, Housing, Social Networks, Health/Wellbeing and Financial Security.

The survey was developed by people who have physical disabilities associated with the Council and distributed in metropolitan, regional and rural areas of NSW.
