1. The Impact of Ageing with a disability
In 2008 the Physical Disability Council of New South Wales (PDCN) carried out a survey to investigate the impact of ageing on people with a disability across rural, regional and metropolitan NSW. A number of key living areas were addressed such as Personal Assistance, Mobility/Transport, Housing, Social Networks, Health/Disability and Financial Security.
At our recent AGM the results of this survey were presented.
A summary report as well as the full report is available on our website.
2. Don't DIS my ABILITY - December 3 2008
More than 150 events are planned across NSW over the next two months in the lead-up to the International Day of People with a Disability on December 3. Check out the Don't Dis My ABILITY program website for further information about the Don't DIS my ABILITY Ambassadors, events and activities - www.dontDISmyABILITY.com.au
Paul Lynch, Minister for Disability Services says about 1.2 million people in New South Wales have a disability. "The chances are that you will know at least one person with a disability - probably more," he says.
"Whether they are family, friends or neighbours, they are the reason we celebrate on 3 December each year."
3. New Management Committee members
